As everyone knows, the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year. Our homes and local communities are adorned with cheerful decorations, family and friends come together to celebrate and reconnect with one another, and the smell of mouth-watering foods and treats seems to hang in the air at every turn. How great would it be if all of these joyous things were also present in the workplace? At the Office of Information Technology (OIT), they are!
Taking inspiration from the classic Christmas carol “Deck the Halls,” staff were invited to deck out their individual office doors with festive seasonal displays. Each department within OIT was also encouraged to decorate their main office door as a group and enter it in the official OIT Holiday Door Decorating Contest. While there were numerous fantastic door entries, a panel of unbiased judges from external agencies chose one that stood out from the rest – way to go Voice Services! While the door decorating contest certainly made OIT feel like a winter wonderland, no holiday season is complete without good food shared among great colleagues. On Wednesday, December 14th OIT held its annual Holiday Luncheon. OIT’s Leadership team graciously treated staff to a delicious catered meal and several people brought homemade desserts for all to enjoy afterward. In addition to celebrating the holiday season together as an agency, the luncheon also provided a special opportunity for OIT Secretary Marty Redden and the entire Leadership team to express their gratitude for all OIT staff do throughout the year in support of the organization.
