As technology plays an ever-increasing role in our daily lives, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) is committed to providing for the common cyber-defense of Alabama’s numerous state agencies and the citizens they serve. In support of that vital effort, OIT is proud to make this site available as a place for Alabamians to find information and resources regarding a wide range of cybersecurity and internet safety issues.
In furtherance of this initiative, OIT and its Cybersecurity Division have identified three key areas which are essential to the cybersecurity of Alabama citizens and agencies:
Awareness
Maintain an online presence as a place to find up-to-date, credible information on cybersecurity issues.
Education
Educate Alabama citizens and state agencies on the threats that exist to our computer systems and information data networks, as well as provide action steps to secure their data.
Resources
Provide citizens and agencies with the resources they need to protect their own information systems.
